The Velagapudi Ramakrishna Siddhartha Engineering College was established in 1977. The colleges is accridiated by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). he institution is ideally located in a vast expanse of 40 acres of land on the out skirts of Vijayawada city at a distance of about 6 Kms from the city centre.

The college was granted Autonomous Status by UGC. The Institution of Engineers ( India ) recognized the courses offered by the college exempting the graduates of the college from Sec A and B of the Institution of Engineers.

Velagapudi Ramakrishna Siddhartha Engineering College, is one among the foremost institutes of national importance in higher technological education, basic and applied research. In 1977, Mr Velapudi Ramkrishn garu offered a land of 11.2 acers for establishing an institute of higher education in engineering in Andhra Pradesh.
