B.S Abdur Rahman Crescent Engineering College
B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Engineering College is sponsored by All India Islamic Foundation. The members of the Foundation are eminent personalities in various walks of life as education, research, industry, business and administration. The President of the Foundation Alhaj B.S. Abdur Rahman is the Chairman of the Governing Body of the College and is also the Managing Trustee of the Seethakathi Trust, Chennai, which has established schools par excellence at Vandalur, Chennai, for boys and at Nungambakkam, Chennai for girls and also a leading Arts and Science College for Women at Kilakarai. Further, the foundation runs schools for girls at Nagore and at Madurai with vocational training. The Foundation is dedicated itself to the cause of education with a special attention to technical education to the educationally, socially and economically backward community. In the light of this, Crescent Engineering College was established in 1984 by any order of the Govt. of Tamilnadu as a Muslim Minority College, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and affiliated to the premier and world renowned university of Madras. At present the College is affiliated to Anna University.
